Tips on How To Save Money Shipping Jewelry and Ensure Protection:

Most jewelry is placed in a bag or a gift box. This provides a pretty presentation and also helps ensure that the pieces are protected. So if you are putting your rings, bracelets, earrings or necklaces inside of pretty bags or small gift boxes such as the 3x2x1, the 3.5x3.5 x 1, or the 3x2, then the 4x4x4 shipping box is a great size to consider. The reason is you can place multiple jewelry items inside, or it also works if you just have one item as long as you fill the "gaps" with biodegradable peanuts, or crumpled up packing paper. As long as it doesn't weigh over 13 ounces, you can save money and ship using USPS First Class mail.

As another tip, if you are shipping multiple jewelry boxes inside, the bubble bag pouches will separate them from inside of the box. Place the pretty bags or gift boxes inside. ShippingBoxDelivery is here to help make shipping necklaces, bracelets, earrings, tie cuffs, body jewelry and rings EASY!

1. SHIP USING FIRST CLASS USPS MAIL:
The wonderful thing about making small lightweight items for your Etsy store is you can ship through First Class mail." This saves you a lot of money as it is the least expensive method of shipping for items weighing under 13 ounces. (Please note in January 2017, this will be going to 16 ounces or less)

2. LAYER INSIDE OUT
Most jewelry is fragile in some way. Also presentation matters in how much you feel the product is worth. So layer your jewelry where it is appropriate. If you are using a bag with a box, or a small box, still put bubble around it. This will help prevent damages.

3. USE A SMALL BOX TO PUT INSIDE OF THE LARGER BOX IF DELICATE:
If the products you are shipping can be bent, they are delicate with beads or easily damaged, it is recommended to use a small box with the jewelry cotton filled padding in it. This helps protect and prevent crushing while in transit. Wrap with bubble wrap after to ensure it is totally protected.

The type of approach is ideal for delicate items like necklaces, chain necklaces, earrings on a card, delicate pendants, and suit and tie accessories.

4. SHIPPING MULTIPLE JEWELRY BOXES, PUT THEM INSIDE OF A LARGER SHIPPING BOX:
If you are shipping more than 4-5 smaller boxes to your customer, be sure to weigh your package to make sure it still meets the under 13-ounce weight requirement to be shipped, first class. If it doesn't then the next best option is typically flat rate services where you would use the free USPS boxes for jewelry with slightly higher shipping costs.

5. AVOID WRAPPING HOMEMADE PRODUCTS IN COLORED TISSUE PAPER:
If you are using tissue paper to make your product look pretty from a presentation standpoint, avoid using the colored tissue which can run depending on the types of products it is wrapping.

6. WITH BUBBLE MAILERS CAN BE VERY EFFECTIVE
If you are putting your nose rings, earrings, body art, beaded jewelry, hard bracelets and charms in a box, wrap it with small bubble wrap before putting into the bag, or you can use a poly bubble mailer.

A common size of bubble mailers is the 0 Jewelry Bubble Mailers either in white or tan.

7. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO MENTION THERE IS JEWELRY INSIDE
Some Etsy store owners like to put their branding on the outside of the packaging. This can be a good idea unless you sell diamonds or anything that a person might deem as valuable.

8. BUY EXTRA SHIPPING INSURANCE IF YOUR PRODUCT IS EXPENSIVE:
If you are selling very expensive items with diamonds and jewels, Fed Ex offers a shipping program where you can ensure up to $100,000 per shipment.
